Masks Workshop - Marianne Larochelle

Masks Workshop

Masks Workshop

2018

A mask is a sacred artifact that carries knowledge and secrets. They are a ritualistic tool since time immemorial to channel the unseen forces that shape our inner life. Masks enable us to encounter those currents that are just beyond the reach of our conscious understanding, be they mysterious, fearsome, sacred, sublime, animal, ancestral, or divine.
Exploring and experimenting with masks help us realize that our face as we know it, our personality, our identity, is also a mask, and it is malleable, living, expanding, and ever-transforming. In this mask and photography playshop, we utilize the magic of masks to explore and access our shadow.
